Howdy! Just a quick post to announce the Studio Jen Digital Scrapbooking Day events!
Oh yeah.. big sale this weekend :) Use coupon code jc-dsd08-40 to take 40% off your entire purchase this weekend! (If you were a newsletter subscriber you would be getting even more)
And since I wanted to give you a little more incentive to go shopping I loaded up a new set of sketch templates as well.
You can pick them up right here. Check out these fun layouts my CT did using these templates.
Ok wait... I forgot, I have even more incentive. All weekend long if you spend $25 at Scrapbook Graphics you get this months collab for free!
Plus, we have 6 new super talented ladies opening up shop this weekend and tons and tons of sales so I'm sure you'll have no problems loading up your cart :) Me? Well I'm setting myself up for disappointment yet again by driving down to Indiana for the Michigan vs. Purdue game. Someone out there has to have their fingers crossed for us right?
Adam went to State College this weekend for the Michigan vs. Penn State game which left me home alone to craft my tushy off. There's a contest in here too so read on :)
I paper scrapped 4 pages!!!!!!!!!! I think that's twice as many as I've done in the last year combined :) Actutally these are all hybrid pages and I used my sketch templates for every single one of them.
So.... in the order I completed them:
This page is about one of my current favorite bands - The National. We took these pictures at Lollapalloza this past August.
Most of these goodies are from the October It Kit Studio kit, the notepad paper is even a stamp that came in the kit, isn't that cool?
Over Labor Day weekend we rented a cottage up in Shelby, MI. A couple of our friends had spent the day working on this sandcastle, giving Dave permission to crush it when they went up for the day. Isn't the picture of him in Mid-Air hilarious?
See those scalloped edges? That's one of my new Martha Stewart Punches, so fun!!
The pictures here are from the Michigan/Illinois game we went to a few weekends ago. The Papers are from the same It Kit kit as the first layout. I have no idea where I got that ribbon from but it matched perfect huh? Oh, and I wanted a scallop circle paper to match this layout but I didn't have one so I traced a different scallop circle paper from Crate Paper onto the back of this one (by October Afternoon I think) and cut it out.
Ok Last one.
This one is about the tradition among Adam's friends to never let a wedding come to an end without the lot of them tying their ties around their head. Most of the stuff on this page is from the Studio Calico Via Airmail kit.
I love using the template to lay out my page because I don't waste any paper or print any pictures I don't need! Plus it allows me to lay out my journaling and print it right on the background paper knowing that it will be in the perfect spot because the rest of the layout is already designed.
Alright, like I said before, every single one of the layouts above was designed using one of my sketch templates available at Scrapbook Graphics. One of them is from an as of yet unreleased collection. The first person who can tell me what collections each of these layouts come from will get a coupon for $20 worth of my stuff! Just put the collection #'s in order I posted the layouts, remember, one of them is from an unreleased collection. So if you thought the National layout was from Collection14, Dave-Zilla was from an unreleased collection, Tailgate is from Collection 22, and Tied & True is from Collection 9 you would put:
14, Unreleased, 22, 9 in the comments.
I will also pick one other person who might not be first but still gets the right answer for a $6 coupon (enough for one collection). So even if you aren't first, still enter!!
So I also got quite a few cards done this weekend.
I wanted to make some scalloped edge cards so I developed a method that's a sure fire guarantee the scallops will line up. If anyone is interested I may be able to throw up a video tutorial so let me know.

A couple of Halloween Cards. The one on the right is super sparkly but it didn't turn out in the picture at all. That black strip of paper is totally covered in glitter and white paper that the witch is stamped on has silver glitter spray all over it.

Why not make this post even longer?
I was at Michael's this weekend to pick up some resin and strolled past the scrapbooking aisle and saw that they had some brand new Martha Stewart goodies. I had a Martha Stewart border punch before and it was awful, I get bloody knuckles whenever I use it because it is sooooo hard to punch down. But these new ones cut like butter so I'm guessing they realized how bad they were. They were also 30% off so I had to get 2 of them. If I'd realized how much the quality had improved I'd probably have gotten even more. Hm... I was going to share pictures of them for you but I can't find them on the Martha web site yet. I think if you look back over the cards and pages in this post you'll get the general idea of what they look like.
Alright well I've got an hour till I have to pick Adam up from the airport so I'm gonna see if I can crank out one more project!
I've been sitting on so many projects so I wanted to take a post to share some!
A bit of a seasonal card. The trees here in Illinois are starting to look just like this and as an added bonus, the weather is beautiful!!
and a close up of the tag & safety pin.

The branch in this stamp is the same one I made to use the tree in the card above.
Stamps: Out On a Limb (Revisited), Wise Owls Cardstock: Club Scrap Ink: Burnt Umber, Landscape Other: Netabilities, Club Scrap Chocolate Shoppe Ribbon, Adirondak Markers
And here's that same branch again but with some blossoms on it.

Also have a few digi pages to share!
This page is all about rekindling an old flame - that old flame being stamping. I had started out as a paper scrapper, abandoned that for stamping & card making, then tried polymer clay, jewelry, and finally digi scrapping. And each time I moved on to a new hobby, I kind of forgot about the last one. But not this time! Now that I finally have my craft room set up exactly as I want it, I'm finally getting time to stamp again and I just love it!!
Papers, Ribbon, hearts, phto mask - Michelle Coleman Chipboard alpha - Kate Hadfield Red Dymo Alpha - Christina Renee
and a beer page :)
Papers - Audrey Neal Alpha - Deb Fischer (recolored) Beer Doodles - Kate Hadfield Template - Janet Phillips Fonts - Birch Std, Courier New
These last 2 pages were featured in the July issue of Digital Artist Magazine.
So this past weekend we drove back to Michigan to attend the Michigan vs. Illinois game.
Tailgating is awesome!
but the game....
yeah.. well the 1st quarter was awesome. The rest of it was pretty darn lame. At least the cheerleaders were having fun..
oh and check this out. Russell Crowe was sitting right behind us
I mean it could be... and in person it was almost undeniably him... but if you were Russell Crowe would you be sitting in row 87? Eh.. maybe not.. But even his wikipedia page claims that "Crowe is a big supporter of the University of Michigan Wolverinesfootball team". So I hold fast that it very well could be him. Whatcha think?
... so come on Blue! Even Gladiators are rooting for you!
So I've become extremely obsessed with the stamps over at Papertrey Ink lately. I want them all.... but at the moment I've only got a few sets. The other day I was playing with this one and came up with these cards.
I stamped the solid portions of the stamps with Twinkling H20's and then overstamped the outlines with matching Palette Inks from Papertrey as well.
Also, in case you haven't heard, SCRAPBOOK GRAPHICS is turning FIVE YEARS OLD and is having a huge party this weekend!
I'm going to be in Michigan so I won't be able to hang out all weekend but I do have a video tutorial that will go up showing how to make this fun hybrid shaker card:
(would you believe that ribbon is digital?)
And also I'm having a big 35% off sale!
but... if you happen to be a member of my mailing list, watch your in-basket because you may find an even bigger coupon waiting there :)
To see the full and HUGE schedule of events and other sales that are part of the birthday party click right here!!! You won't want to miss this!
